Swiss Re Corporate Solutions' Credit team offers unfunded risk participations and insurance policies to financial institutions and corporate clients. Our risk participation offering is a bi-lateral, silent agreement and represents an irrevocable, unconditional and on-demand obligation.
For more than 20 years, we have covered over 20,000 transactions in more than 120 countries with a cumulative cover of over USD 160bn. Our presence in Zurich, Munich, Amsterdam, London, Milan, Singapore, and Sao Paulo ensures proximity to our customers.
We cover a broad variety of sectors and facility types as described below.
We're specialized in the energy, metals & mining as well as soft commodities sectors covering credit exposures of financial institutions and corporates. More concretely this includes amongst others upstream oil and gas, offshore, refineries, fertilizer, mining and metals processing, sugar, soya, cocoa, coffee, corn and grains, cotton, proteins, pulp and paper. In terms of financing structures, we cover pre-export finance, prepayment facilities, reserve-based lending, project finance, borrowing base facilities, trader finance and secured revolving credit facilities.
We support financial institutions managing their credit exposures in documentary trade, receivables and supply chain finance transactions. We focus on transactions such as letters of credit (L/Cs), stand by L/Cs, bank guarantees, oil payment guarantees, import L/Cs, trade loans, receivables finance, payables finance and promissory notes. We also support corporates with trade credit transactions.
Project & Infrastructure Finance
We are most active in sectors such as power (generation, transmission, and distribution), transport (aviation, airports, and roads), logistics (ports, rail and rolling stock), energy (LNG, pipelines and petrochemicals), social infrastructure (hospitals, schools) and telecom (towers, cables, fibre, and data centers). We cover facilities such as term loans (e.g. construction and operations), capex loans (incl. undrawn commitments) and support facilities (e.g. standby L/Cs).
